Nixon watches have made an impact on the watch scene over the last decade. Whilst a relatively new player in the watch industry, Nixon has entered the industry with a bang.
Nixon watches originated in California in 1997 as a boutique watch manufacturer making specialist watches for the youth and fashion market. It was Nixons intention to create unique and memorable high quality watches and in the space of 10 years they have succeeded in doing this.
To the point where in January of 2006 Nixon was purchased by Billabong International for $54 million, not a bad return on 10 or so years of work. They now create a wide range of lifestyle products along with their world class watches, but are certainly well known for their timeless timepieces.
Nixon watches are now highly sought after as watches with style, class, flair and quality. Although not cheap if you buy them at retail, Nixon watches are still a canny purchase. In these days of mass produced generic watches that tend to all look the same, Nixon has managed to brand it watches in a way that makes them sell extremely well.
Nixon like to create watches with personality, and have been known to make watches that suit types of watches for people of certain personalities. So if you’re outgoing and playful you have watches that will appeal to your personality. Or perhaps you’re conservative and middle class. You’ll find a watch that appeals to your character.
An example is the Dork model of watch, created to appeal to – well – the dork amongst us. Nixon have created a range of stylish watches that should have something that appeals to every one of us.
And if you feel like stepping out with a really high quality high class watch on your wrist buy yourself a Nixon Elite watch. With Swiss movements and the appeal of some of the best watches in the world, one of the Nixon Elite model watches will set you apart. But expect to pay for it.
Nixon watches are not cheap watches, but there are ways to find a Nixon watch at a price that is way below retail if you know where to look. The canny online shopper can buy themselves one of the best and most appealing of watches, a Nixon watch, at a price to make them smile. It’s just a matter of knowing where.
I'm looking for a cheap, reliable watch?
The last couple of watches I've bought have lasted a year at the most. After replacing the battery, the watches would be good for another couple of months or so, and die again. I'm not looking for anything with a lot of features or fancy looks, just a simple, reliable, “ticking” watch (I don't really like digital watches) that isn't butt-ugly or expensive.
